About Gurus

1. Thiru Sivalingam Ayya

When Guruji was 15 years old, his father took him to a guru named Thiru Sivalingam Ayya and requested, “You alone should teach this child the mantras, tantras, and spiritual teachings through which divine grace may be received.”

Thiru Sivalingam Ayya agreed to teach him. He asked Guruji’s father to bring the child whenever he called and specifically told them to come on the coming full-moon day.

On the night of the full moon, Guruji was made to stand in the water of a pond and was taught various mantras through which divine grace could be received. After many days, Guruji received the grace of the Divine (Mahasakthi).

2. Yogi Sri Ram Surat

During Guruji’s college years, the “Azhukku Mootai Swami” (Yogi Ram Surat) often appeared in his dreams and meditation, saying, “Come and see me. Will you not come and see me?” Guruji asked his father who this Azhukku Mootai Swami was and why he was calling him. Guruji’s father made enquiries and told him that the saint was living in Tiruvannamalai and was a Siddhar.

Guruji then went to Tiruvannamalai, found where Azhukku Mootai Swami was staying, and went to see him. The moment he saw Guruji, the Swami said, “How many times have I called you? Why are you so late?” and struck him once on the back. That blow awakened Guruji’s Kundalini energy. From that day onward, Guruji accepted him as one of his gurus.

3. Sri Lahiri Mahasaya

Another guru’s statue has been consecrated at our Shambhala Yantra Lokam—the statue of Lahiri Mahasaya. Once, when Guruji went to the Himalayas for meditation, an elderly figure appeared from behind a rock and told him, “Go this way.” At first, Guruji thought that the person was someone from that region. After completing his meditation and coming down from the mountain, he asked the local residents about the figure. They told him that the person matching his description was Lahiri Mahasaya, a disciple of Mahavatar Babaji, and that he had attained Jeeva Samadhi many years earlier. In his memory, a statue of Lahiri Mahasaya has been consecrated at our Yantra Lokam.
